Who...
Harbor
Web was started in 1996 by Horst
Wolf, Jr., after his wife
insisted that he stop designing websites for free during the early
days of the modern Internet.
Background...
During most of the 1980s, Horst worked as an independent consultant
for SRI International and
various pharmaceutical companies. In June of 1991, he joined Menlo
Biomedical Associates, Inc., which was founded a few
months earlier by two ex-SRI consultants. While at Menlo Biomedical
in the mid 90s, Horst developed an Internet based disease market
information service. In May of 2000, he joined London based Isis
Research when Isis acquired most of Menlo Biomedical's
assets, and Harbor Web was put into hibernation. In late 2003,
Isis was acquired by Synovate
Healthcare, and Horst returned to consulting
and rekindled Harbor Web.
Where...
Harbor Web is based in Santa Cruz, and maintains relationships
with a network of Internet and market research consultants on
the East and West coasts, Canada, the U.K., and Switzerland.
Today...
Harbor Web provides web site maintenance and development services,
business consulting services, and owns and operates the santacruzflea.com.
